LOCATION WILL BE IN ROCK HILL SC
CMA for clinical support in a general surgery practice.
Certification as a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) by American Medical Technologists or certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical Assistants is required. Minimum of 3 months experience in a medical environment. Knowledge, skills, and abilities required: Ability to read, understand, and respond to instructions: effective verbal, nonverbal, and written communication skills. Skills in establishing and maintaining an effective relationship with patients and families, physicians, practice management and staff, and the public. Strong organizational skills, ability to adhere to deadlines and protocol. Ability to work under pressure and react calmly and effectively in emergency/difficult situations. Knowledge of examination, diagnostic and treatment procedures and protocols. Ability to learn or have knowledge of applicable governmental regulations and protocols. Ability to perform in a fast-paced, multitask environment with flexibility as needed. Ability to be a team player or take initiative.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Light Work - Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise moving objects, including the human body, weighing 11-20 pounds occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds frequently, and/or a negligible amount of weight constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time). Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible. NOTE: The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible.
