THIS POSITION WILL BE LOCATED IN HUNTERSVILLE NC
To support Administrators, Medical Staff, Directors, Nurse Managers and others in the access, use, distribution and analysis of data for Clinical Improvement activities to help identify opportunities for improvements in the delivery of care. This individual works in conjunction with the assigned patient population to provide continuum of care information.
Graduate of an accredited program. Degree in Nursing. Current NC license. Three to Five years minimum of clinical experience required. Recent acute care experience preferred. Previous experience with Hospital Information Systems and PC based systems preferred. Knowledge, skills and abilities required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing; effective interpersonal skills and ability to relate to the Medical Staff; understanding of clinical processes and interdepartmental procedures and functions, ability to present formal presentations. Knowledge, skills and abilities required: Understanding of personal computers and database management. Ability to present statistical information in concise manner. Good knowledge of ICD 9 diagnosis and ICD 9 procedure codes. Good knowledge of chart abstraction processes. Good understanding of patient identification processes and components in patient management. Good knowledge of nursing documentation practices and resource tools. Acute awareness of confidentiality of information collected, analyzed and presented. Ability to successfully complete generic, department, and database-specific skills. Tact and diplomacy required for communication with Medical Staff, ancillary and nursing departments, Department Heads and Administration.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT; Sedentary Work - lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise moving objects, including the human body, weighing up to 10 pounds occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of weight frequently (Frequently: activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time). Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
